# Privacy Policy — DarkWave Smart Dark Mode

_Last updated: April 13, 2026_

## No Data Collection

DarkWave does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data.

## What the Extension Does

- Applies a CSS dark mode filter to websites you visit.
- Saves your preferences (brightness, contrast, blacklist, schedule) **locally on your device** using `chrome.storage.local`. This data never leaves your browser.
- Reads the URL of the current tab solely to apply or remove the dark mode filter. Tab URLs are never logged, stored remotely, or sent to any server.

## External Requests

The popup UI loads **Google Fonts** for styling purposes. No personal data is included in this request. Site favicons are fetched from Google's favicon service using only the domain name — no personal information is transmitted.

## Third Parties

DarkWave does not share any data with third parties. There are no analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs included.
